Formed in 1997 by wayward teenage friends Jeffro Hoskins II, Mychal (Caveman) Jenkins, and Bo Bonney found a positive outlet to express themselves through this clever fusion.
basement is dedicated to crafting authentic music and connecting with the music community, driven by a passion for artistic expression and a vision of inspiring listeners through every note.
1997
basement officially forms in Boise, Idaho, bringing heavy grooves and high-energy rapcore to the high desert. Early practices begin in a cold, open-air studio space off Emerald Street

1999
Bogie’s Battle of the Bands – Champs
basement tears into the Boise music scene and cement’s their place in the local music community with a defining win at Bogie’s Battle of the Bands.
2022
Debut album release
Retaining the original lineup, basement releases it’s first full length album. You’ll find incorporated hints of Sepultura, Beastie Boys, Helmet, NWA, and Black Sabbath that create a unique experience with something for everyone to enjoy.
While creating the album, basement struck the opportunity to bring in Page Hamilton of Helmet, one of their biggest influences, to produce the album. The album was recorded and engineered by Jason Ringelstetter at the Tonic Room. Ten tracks of this profound, meat and potato style rock is definitely one for the books!
X-Fest Battle of the Bands – Champs
The summer of 2022 basement had the opportunity to play on the local radio station’s X Fest supporting the national headliner Papa Roach along with Hollywood Undead and Bad Wolves.
2023
Music Video for “Muppet”
basement releases Muppet. This is the first full length video produced and released by the band. The lineup remains close to the original band with Bo Bonney, Jeffro Hoskins, Mychal Jenkins, and Steve Bade.
2024
“Smasher” is released
Smasher was a collaborative effort by the members of basement along with Head PE’s Jahred. Released as a single, the heavy hitting power riffs along with a confluence of vocal talent showed basement had no plans to slow down
2026
“My Hoodie” and the age of Pegasus
After the first major lineup change, basement releases My Hoodie, moving from the Elephant to the Pegasus. The band is now comprised of
