basement is a hard hitting rap-rock band from the upper west side of Boise Idaho. They bring a High Energy pallet cleanse to every show that leaves all witnessing wanting more.
Formed in 1997 by wayward teenage friends Jeffro Hoskins II, Mychal (Caveman) Jenkins, and Bo Wahl found a positive outlet to express themselves through this clever fusion. On their debut album (released Fall of 2022) you’ll find incorporated hints of Sepultura, Beastie Boys, Helmet, NWA, and Black Sabbath that creates a unique experience with a little something for everyone to enjoy. Recorded and engineered by Jason Ringelstetter at the Tonic Room basement struck the opportunity to bring in one of their biggest influences to produce the album, Page Hamilton of Helmet. 10 tracks of this profound, meat and potato style rock is definitely one for the books!
The summer of 2022 basement had the opportunity to play on the local radio station’s X Fest supporting the national headliner Papa Roach along with Hollywood Undead and Bad Wolves. Winning the Battle of the Bands at Bogies in 1998 and the next year winning a close 2nd by merely 2 votes, opened up a new era and set the standard for the Boise local scene. The members of basement have since won supporting acts such as: Hed PE, Powerman 5000, Soulfly, Crazy Town, Dead Sara, Pop Evil, Bobaflex, Floater, Stuck Mojo, L7, Finger Eleven, Atreyu and many more national touring acts.
Always on time, always professional, basement takes pride in playing anytime, anywhere.
“Basement is the music equivalent to Jumping your ass into an ice cold lake. The juxtaposition and variety of their song composition shakes a fist at genre specificity. The live show reveals a cast of characters that simply can’t be ignored.”
